Is John Kerry Dillusional or just Antisemitic?

The UC Berkeley student government has banned the term “illegal immigrant” from its discourse, deeming the phrase racist, offensive, unfair and derogatory.  In an unanimous vote, student senators passed a resolution that stated the word “illegal” is “racially charged,” “dehumanizes” people, and contributes to “punitive and discriminatory actions aimed primarily at immigrants and communities of color.”…Its approval marks at least the second time this semester that a public university’s student government has voted to eradicate the phrase. UCLA passed a nearly identical measure in late August.

And I hereby ban the use of “illegal settlement” from all discourse.

But will Secretary of State John Kerry comply?

Here’s an excerpt from the official transcript of his recent interview:

SECRETARY KERRY: …Now, the Palestinian leadership made it absolutely clear they believe the settlements are illegal, they object to the settlements, and they are in no way condoning the settlements. But they knew that Israel would make some announcements. They knew it, but they don’t agree with it, and they don’t support it...We do not think you should be doing settlements. We, the United States, say the same thing. We do not believe the settlements are legitimate. We think they’reillegitimate. And we believe that the entire peace process would, in fact, be easier if these settlements were not taking place. Now, that’s our position. That is also the position – but we knew that there was not going to be a freeze. We didn’t negotiate a freeze. So there’s a difference here between knowing something may happen and objecting to it. The Palestinians profoundly object to it. The international community objects to it. The United States policy has always been that the settlements are illegitimate, and we believe this process would be much easier if we didn’t have the tension that is created by settlements.

Let me ask you something: How – if you say you’re working for peace and you want peace and a Palestine that is a whole Palestinian that belongs to the people who live there, how can you say we’re planning to build in the place that will eventually be Palestine? So it sends a message that somehow perhaps you’re not really serious. Now, we understand the pressures that exist, and we understand that within the government there are people who have a different view. So until you arrive at a peace agreement, that issue will not be settled. If you arrive at a peace agreement, everybody will understand where Israel is and everybody will understand where Palestine is.

The first is that if previously in 2009 I had hoped that the use of the term “illegitimate” was meant to distinguish American policy from that of the Arabs in that the question of legal, or not, was to be avoided because we Jews could make a very good case that we a quite legal, this seems to have dissipated.

The second is that Kerry supports apartheid.  If we Jews can’t construct communities and that they must be dismantled, then Jews can’t live in a “Palestine that belongs to the people who live there”.  “Palestine” is to be Arab, Arab only.

Mr. Secretary, can Israel then be only Jewish?

After all, Mr. Secretary, there are almost two dozen Arab states (UNESCO identifies 21 Arab states, while Wikipedia lists 23 Arab states. In addition the Arab League is a regional organization of these states that was formed in 1945. It currently has 22 members).

Why can’t there be one Jewish state, with an Arab minority?

Or, why must Palestine by bereft of its Jews?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I want Hilary back as secretary of state….

Obama and Kerry are ruining the relationship between the US and Israel, the problem is the only voices speaking out against this are in Israel, and their voices don’t make it here to America.  Its pretty amazing what has gone on under the nose of the “media” (Obama tools for obscuring the truth).

Terrorist Attack Thwarted as IDF Seizes Anti-Tank Weapon

In another sign that the situation in Judea and Samaria is heating up, IDF troops on Monday arrested an Arab terrorist who was found to have in his possession a Carl Gustav recoilless rifle, a military-grade weapon used to take out tanks and armored vehicles. The 84 calibre automatic weapon has a range of up to 1,000 meters, and can utilize high explosive ammunition.

The weapon is far more sophisticated than those carried by the average terrorist. Amir Lazover, the commander of the unit that discovered the weapon, said that the terrorist was stopped at a checkpoint, where soldiers discovered the weapon. Large forces of troops were called in, as were members of the bomb squad.

There is no doubt, Lazover said, that the terrorist was on his way to conduct a major attack. “We were able to stop a terror attack,” he said, adding that the incident made clear that the terrorists were checking to see whether IDF soldiers were remaining attentive to the situation in Judea and Samaria.

Last week, US Secretary of State John Kerry “threatened” Israel with a new intifada if it did not agree to withdraw from most of Judea and Samaria, as the Palestinian Authority demands. In an interview withChannel 2 television, Kerry said that there would be “chaos” and a “third intifada” if Israel’s “peace talks” with the Palestinian Authority (PA) fail. “Failure of the talks will increase Israel’s isolation in the world,” Kerry said. “The alternative to getting back to the talks is a potential of chaos. I mean, does Israel want a third intifada?”

Israeli leaders slammed the comments, saying they amounted to incitement and warning such rhetoric could become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Lazover said that, currently, there was no third intifada developing. “There has not been an increase in the number of security incidents in recent weeks, but the quality of these potential attacks have increased,” he said.

Up2DateOnIsrael – Shabbas Week in Review Update – (From now on this will come on Friday afternoons)

-Criticism of John Kerry and his approach to the recent “Peace Talks”.  My theory is that the US is insane and they just can’t find another approach.  Definition of insanity being doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  The biggest problem is every time the US makes this mistake the Israelis are forced to give more and more concessions (releasing terorirsts, giving up land, etc)  While continuously funneling money to the PA.

*This is the most important article of the week and maybe the year, something must be done about this and it is a MUST READ if there ever was one.

– The NYT is pressing an Anti-Israel ideology on its readers and something must be done about this.  I think considering a boycott of the NYT is in order and I want to get the conversation started. – This article is about a new book which quotes President Obama calling the Israeli prime minister a pain in the ass.  Just more evidence he is anti-Israel.

Finally Obama and John Kerry are doing their best to destroy the relationship between Israel and the United States.  Allies must have a level of trust and understanding and that was built between the US and Israel over the past century and Obama and Kerry are doing EVERYTHING to destroy it.  (No I don’t think its completely on purpose, they just fail to see the truth of the situation)

Abbas Admits The PA ordered Terrorism

ImageThe popular press has been reporting on the recent release of 26 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, the second round of prisoners released as a “goodwill gesture” from the Israelis to the Palestinian Authority as part of the ongoing negotiations. By definition, these prisoners are terrorists. Terrorism is defined as the use of violence and intimidation to achieve some political goal and popularly understood as violence against civilians to achieve political ends.

Yet Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, considers these actions “the duty of resistance.” He said so in a 2005 interview on PA television. Palestinian Media Watch reports:

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gave an interview to PA TV in 2005, just as the PA’s terror campaign (the Intifada) was ending. In that interview, Abbas explained that the PA sees all Palestinian prisoners, including those who targeted and murdered civilians, as legitimate fighters who should be released because when they committed their attacks, they were only following orders:

Abbas: “I demand [the release of] prisoners because they are human beings, who did what we, we, ordered them to do. We – the [Palestinian] Authority.”

Even when they killed – which Abbas refers to as “the duty of resistance” – they were fulfilling the PA leadership’s orders.

Here is the video of Abbas’ interview:

By Abbas’ own admission, then, the Palestinian Authority sent murderers to kill civilians, and he defended those terrorists as legitimate “fighters.”

This sort of doublespeak — condemnation of terrorism to a Western audience while legitimizing terrorism to a Palestinian audience — is glossed over or ignored by the media. Where is media coverage of Abbas’ legitimization of terrorists?

Nor has there been reporting on the victims of the grisly murders committed by the 26 prisoners who were released.

However, CAMERA has reported all the details, including the story of Isaac Rotenberg’s murder:

Holocaust survivor Isaac Rotenberg was born in Poland. Most of his family was murdered in the Sobibor death camp, but Isaac managed to escape and joined the partisans. After the war he tried to make his way by ship to mandate Palestine, but was interred by the British and sent to a detention camp in Cyprus until 1947. After his release Isaac arrived in pre-state Israel and fought in the War of Independence. He continued his work as a plasterer even after pension age and in March 1994 was at his place of work in Petah Tikva when he was attacked by two Palestinian labourers with axes. He died, aged 67, two days later.

In addition, the press hasn’t shown you pictures of the victims like:

terrorists released victim 1.jpgterrorists released victim 2.jpgterrorists released victim 3.jpg

Murdered by terrorists: Revital Seri, Isaac Rotenberg, and Ian Sean Feinberg

Instead, a lot of the photos that accompany the stories feature jubilant Palestinians celebrating the release of the murderers such as this one from The New York Times

Terrorists Released NYT.bmp

And this one from the Associated Press..

Terrorists released AP.jpg

Only the Israeli, Jewish or niche press has reported that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas declared that “there will be no peace agreement with Israel until all prisoners are freed from Israeli jails. I will dedicate my life to releasing the prisoners.” In other words, a peace agreement depends on the release of murderers. This is the context in which Israel’s “goodwill gesture” should be reported.

Caroline Glick: Obama Foreign Policy Has 'Laid a Trap' for Israel

First off I’m going to admit that I am not a fan of Obama, if that wasn’t clear already. That being said I am not going to make any claims without facts to back them up. I did vote for him in 2008 when he preached hope and change, promised us a list of 20 things and didn’t accomplish one of them. That being said he is not even close to the biggest problem with our government. The whole thing is a disaster and I am not sure exactly how to fix it, but people need to get more informed and know both sides of the argument IN DEPTH before they vote on the issue. Granted I can’t stand Obama, I will not say anything I can’t back up with facts. I won’t call him a Muslim, I won’t even call him a socialist. What I do know about him though is that he does not value Israel as an ally in the middle east and this video shows why. Another thing I want to say is that it doesn’t matter if you are a democrat or a republican, what your beliefs are I do not want to argue left versus right. I would love for people to begin commenting, but I do not want to talk about American politics UNLESS they affect Israel.

Knesset Speaker: Rockets are Response to Terrorist Release

Knesset Speaker, MK Yuli Edelstein (Likud), joined several other Likud members who issued harsh judgments against the upcoming release of terrorist murderers as a “gesture” to the Palestinian Authority (PA), in exchange for its willingness to embark upon a US-mediated “peace process.”

“The holding of negotiations without preconditions is a principle that Israel insisted upon before the process,” wrote Edelstein. “And yet, this morning, our eyes have seen the names of the arch-terrorists with blood on their hands, who will be released. Terrorists who murdered and slaughtered our finest sons and citizens – soldiers, teachers, employers and even a Holocaust survivor.”

“The Palestinians’ ‘gesture’ toward Israel was not late in coming,” he added bitterly, “and this morning, already, rockets were fired at the South. About things like this, it is said, ‘the world will go on behaving as it always does,’ ‘there is nothing new under the sun,’ and ‘what was – will continue to be.'”

“I regret to say that experience has taught us that someday, soon, the headlines will inform us that one of those being freed was involved in a terror attack in some way or another. My heart goes out to the families.”

My comments:

  • This is the second time in THESE “negotiations” in which Israel has freed prisoners just to get the PA to the table.
  • The majority of Palestinian people MAY want peace, whether or not this is true today, if a normal everyday palestinian citizen speaks up they will be immediately silenced by the leadership and terrorists.  We can’t waste anymore time and appease people who have proved over and over again they don’t want peace they want Israel as their own, by attempting to negotiate.  (Im not saying we act by force I’m saying we try some alternatives to “peace talks”).
  • The last point I want to make is to completely destroy the land for peace argument.  76% of the original territories given to Israel by the UN and Britain have been given to palestinians or Arabs in “peace talks”.  It just doesn’t work and how much more can Israel sacrifice?

Sorry for the slow start, but I promise I will begin ramping up my postings ten-fold.  Not only because I want to do this blog, and how much I care about Israel, Islamic Extremists have begun their offensive.  The media will play this is as israel being on the offensive, but the bombings today have me sure that the coordination between Hamas and Hezbollah has begun to surface.  Something that these extremists has showed us is that by no means are these your modern day sociopaths.  They say one thing in english and the media FEEDS on it and they in arabic they contradict exactly what they just said, but no one is paying attention except these extremists and other arab muslims.  I am not a hard core right wing.  I understand the Palestinian issue and that it is very complex.  That being said history has been rewritten, the nations, the people, who voted and created the state of Israel are the ones who condemn Israel the most.

The smartest thing the Extremists are doing right now is beginning right now.  When the US has ZERO foreign policy.  The Syria issue has proved that.  The U.S.’s credibility is gone.  That being said its not the liberals fault, it is just Obama.  I’m not saying he should have attacked Syria, im saying when you are “The leader of the free world” you can’t make statements that you have no intention of backing up.  Besides the fact that the only spending cut he is willing to make is to the military it is very unsettling when you think about Obama’s “middle east policy” (AKA DO NOTHING) Israel is in a very precarious situation…

Lets all pray for the best.

My old Boss Debating Gershon Baskin at The Pardes Institute in Jerusalem

This is my old boss in a debate at Pardes. Pardes is where I studied this previous summer when I was in Jerusalem. Before I moved on to work at the Center for Near East Policy research. I learned a lot, but I decided to leave the organization.

It was a great experience and I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Bedein. He taught me a lot, but he also is extremely right wing and that can get in the way of being able to execute.

I’d like to see discussion on what people think of each sides points, because I think both men bring up interesting ideas. Please post your thoughts below.

The ADL Indentifies The Top 10 Anti-Israel Groups In The United States

The anti-Zionist Neturei Karta hareidi sect was named on Monday one of the top 10 most influential and active anti-Israel groups in the United States, in a list released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Each of the groups on the list, according to ADL’s research, is “fixated with delegitimizing Israel” and has demonstrated the ability to reach new segments of the American public with a hostile and misleading narrative about Israel, the organization said in a statement.

The top 10 anti-Israel Groups, as identified by ADL, are:

ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism)
American Muslims for Palestine
Friends of Sabeel-North America
If Americans Knew/Council for the National Interest
Jewish Voice for Peace
Muslim Public Affairs Council
Neturei Karta
Students for Justice in Palestine
U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation

“The Top 10 anti-Israel groups are the most significant players in the domestic anti-Israel movement today,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.

“The groups are fixated on delegitimizing Israel and convincing the American public that Israel is an international villain that deserves to be ostracized and isolated,” he added.

In compiling the list, ADL considered various criteria, including the groups’ ability to organize, sponsor and endorse Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns against Israel; their sponsorship of and participation in anti-Israel rallies, panel discussions or conferences; and their ability to pursue anti-Israel policy initiatives and lobbying efforts against Israel.

In addition to their national impact and influence, many of the groups included in the list are known to employ rhetoric that is extremely hostile to Israel, Zionists and/or Jews.  Examples of this include: Allegations that Israel or Jews control the U.S. government or the media;

Offensive parallels to the Holocaust by comparing Israeli leaders to Nazis or describing Gaza as the “new Auschwitz;”

Calls for the dismantlement of the state of Israel;

Expressions of support for terrorist groups that seek Israel’s destruction.

“The list represents the worst of the worst anti-Israel groups,” said Foxman. “They lob any and every accusation against Israel, including charges of Nazi-like crimes, ‘apartheid’ policies, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and genocide. Their accusations are rarely, if ever, balanced with an acknowledgement of Israel’s repeated efforts to make peace with the Palestinians, or the legitimate terrorism concerns faced by Israeli citizens.”

ADL issued its first list of top 10 anti-Israel groups in 2010 in the wake of the 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. Since then, major shifts in the Middle East, as well as more aggressive efforts to delegitimize Israel through the BDS campaign, have resulted in a significantly altered domestic anti-Israel movement.

The Jewish anti-Israel group “Jewish Voice for Peace” (JVP) made the ADL list once again. ADL noted that the group’s leaders and members of its Rabbinical Council are regularly invited to major anti-Israel events and conferences, and the group claims that its Jewish nature gives it a “particular legitimacy in voicing an alternative view.”

ADL further noted in its report that JVP “intentionally exploits Jewish culture and rituals” in an effort to convince other Jews that opposition to Israel does not contradict, but is consistent with, Jewish values.

NGO Monitor recently exposed that JVP runs a “summer camp” for campus activists to train them in the most effective methods to conduct a BDS campaign against Israel.

The Neturei Karta sect opposes the establishment of the State of Israel. Its members often win international headlines despite their tiny percentage of world Jewry.

Members of the cult have in the past met with former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who publicly called to wipe Israel off the map. Most recently, a member of the sect was arrested in Israel on suspicion of offering to spy for Iran.

This article was found in today’s issue of Arutz Sheva.

The reason for posting this article is to highlight the somewhat underground battle that is going on for the future of Israel.  Slowly US support for Israel has been declining.  The media has become very much a catalyst for these organizations, not supporting them directly, but Israel is losing the media war.  It has been for years.  The reasons for this are numerous and I will expand on them as this blog unfolds.

The important point to consider right now is that these organizations all exist and are working to end US support of Israel.  What can we do about this?
